Facebook calls entries for Hacker Cup | Facebook Annual Hacker Cup Registration till 27th Jan 2013
Mumbai, January 16: The social networking site Facebook today announces the opening of registration for its Annual Hacker Cup for developers. World’s largest social network, Facebook aims to promote innovation and new ideas through this competition. The registration will end on 27th January 2013 and interested hackers or developers can register their entry at https://www.facebook.com/hackercup link.
The annual event, known for its fame, fortune, glory in the developers community was first started in 2011 and getting more and more popularity among enthusiast developers to showcase their talent.
According to a press note issued by the organizers, those who participated pervious events can be treated as a pre registered candidates and can participate in 2013 Facebook Hackers Cup. However, such candidates need to cross check their details once again by logging in to their account.
The key attraction of the Facebook Hacker Cup is $10,000 prize money. The competition will be held in two rounds starting with an online qualification, out of which 25 of the best hackers are then flown by Facebook to their headquarters in Menlo Park, CA. The preliminary round will be held between January 25 and February 16 while the onsite final round is scheduled for March 22-23, 2013. The contestant will be judged on accuracy and speed as they race to solve algorithmic problems to advance through up to five rounds of programming challenges.
The candidates interested in Facebook Hackers Cup should be a minimum of 18 years and have a Facebook profile to participate in the event. They would be also required to provide their details including name, postal address, phone number, email address, and date of birth.
Last year, the Hacker Cup attracted 8,000 participants from 150 countries, with the winner- Roman Andreev, hailing from Russia.
